The board of directors consist of three professors of the institute:

• Prof. Ulrich Lehman director (spokesperson) for finances and corporations
• Prof. Dr. Jörg Krone director for research, development and personal
• Prof. Dr. Hermann Johannes director for sales and marketing

The board’s duties and responsibilities:

• Election for the boards chairman and two substitutes for a period of two years. Success goes to the candidate with two thirds of the vote from members of the board. A re-election is possible.
• Leading current business’s
• Representing the institute within and outside of the university
• Development of strategies and changes of key activities
• If need be; arrangement of working groups
• Portraying the institute externally
• Voting and appointing member associates (in agreement with the rectorate)
